-26 years of doing business in Guyana
GRACE Kennedy Money Services (GKMS), the agent of Western Union and home of Bill Express in Guyana, hosted its 26th anniversary celebration at its oldest sub-agent – C&F Regent Supermarket – on Thursday (February 14, 2019).
It was also the 97th anniversary of the parent company, Grace Kennedy.
As part of the celebration, customers turned out in their numbers to enjoy the anniversary cake as well as prizes and surprises. The cake was cut by sub-agent owner, Peter Fraser, with support from the staff of C&F.
During the celebration, winners of Bill Express’ “Bill the Love” Valentine’s Day promotion, Dibbi Devi Kissoon and Shellon Belgrave, were each rewarded with a dinner at the Pegasus Hotel Guyana.
GKMS Guyana Limited was registered in 1992, at 65 Main St. Cummingsburg, to serve as an exclusive agent of Western Union Financial Services – one of the most trusted money transfer companies in the world.
Business operations began at its head office, on February 14, 1993, and, in June 1994, the company added C&F Supermarket (on Regent Street) as a sub-agent. Since then, the network has expanded into villages and outlying areas across Guyana, from Corriverton to New Amsterdam, Rosignol to Linden, and to the Essequibo Coast.
The company also further extended its services with a one stop bill payment service in its 10th year – BILL EXPRESS – which allows customers to pay their bills, including utility bills, school fees, cable and internet bills and even micro finance repayments.
Both the Western Union & Bill Express network has grown to over 55 locations countrywide, over the years.
